For operators

List your trips on ASRA

ASRA WEST is where people find and book fishing charters, guided hunts, lodges and outdoor trips, booked direct with the operators who run them. You list your trips, guests book them, and you run the trip. ASRA also helps guests choose, so your trips reach people who are still deciding.

What you get

  • A listing page for each trip, with photos, what's included and live availability.
  • Instant booking, or requests you approve first. For now guests pay you in person; card payment online is on the way.
  • A calendar of who is coming and when, assigned to the guide, captain or boat doing the trip.
  • Booking emails to you, your staff and your guests.
  • A booking widget for your own website, partner sites that can send you bookings, and the option to sell other operators' trips on your site yourself. See Distribution and your website.

How joining works

ASRA is invitation-only for now, so every operator on the site is one we've talked to. Tell us about your business and we'll get back to you. If it's a fit, you get an invite link to set up your account.

Setting up, in order

Each step needs the one before it: a trip points at the people or gear that run it, and they belong to the business that gets paid. The dashboard sidebar lists them in the same order.

  1. 1

    Your business

The businesses and individuals who get paid — charter and guide businesses, lodging, equipment vendors. Your account already has one under your own name, so this is somewhere to fill in the public profile rather than somewhere you have to start. Add another if you take bookings both as yourself and as your company.
  2. 2

    Locations

Addresses your business uses: a home base, a meeting point guests show up to, a destination you run trips to, or a service area you cover.
  3. 3

    Staff and assets

People who can be scheduled — guides, captains, employees. Unlike a business, staff are not paid directly: the business they work for on a given booking receives the payout. Staff have no login; for that, see Team. Physical things that get booked — a boat, a cabin, a unit of equipment. Each asset belongs to one business, and can only be booked by one trip at a time.
  4. 4

    Trips

What you sell, and the last thing to set up. Products are the trips customers book, and each one points at the staff or assets that fulfil it — so those need to exist first. Packages are listings you sell together with a partner, yours and theirs. Add-ons are the extras that ride along, defined once here and offered on as many products as you like.
  5. 5

    Booking preferences

Account-wide settings that sit above any one product: whether your trips show on the ASRA marketplace, your timezone, how close to a trip and how far ahead guests may book, who gets a booking when the guest does not choose, how guests pay, and who gets notified about bookings — you, your staff and your guests. Moving from another booking system? An open date and busy times keep you from double-booking while you switch over.
  6. 6

    Go live

Publish a trip and it appears on ASRA. If its calendar is empty, the trip page says why: no hours set, nobody eligible to run it, and so on. You can fix it before a guest ever sees it.

Once bookings come in

Every trip someone has actually booked from you — as a list to triage, or a calendar of who is coming and when. Request-to-book trips wait here for your approval.

When a guest doesn't pick a guide or boat, the booking goes to whoever is free, by the rule you set in Tools. Every guest lands in Customers with their bookings, whether or not they made an account.

Selling beyond ASRA

Your dashboard has two sides on one login: Trips, for running your trips, and Partnering, for selling through websites. In Partnering you can put your booking flow on your own website with one snippet, let partner sites such as lodges, tackle shops and other operators show your trips and send you bookings, sell trips together as packages, and, if you like, show other operators' trips on your own site. Read the distribution guide.
